Annie Lucas

Picture
Annie Lucas (February 18, 1954) was raised in Autauga County, Alabama, where she was influenced by her mother who constantly seemed to be sewing something. She married Charlie Lucas when she was a teenager, and they had five children together.  After her husband suffered a disabling back injury, Annie had a vision of Jonah and the Whale and began creating art. Her trademark Biblical images are made of paint and stitches of thread on canvases.
