Hubert Walters

Hubert Walters (1931 - 2008) immigrated from Jamaica to the United States in 1971 and eventually settled in Troutman, North Carolina. His first sculptures were of small boats that reminded him of the Jamaican boats on which he used to fish. In time, his work began to include animals, buildings and "half-people" created from wood and Bondo and painted with bold black lines.
